A lot of people ask me why I spend so much time keeping East Coast Pest Control up to date with the latest training and accreditation. They are, after all, expensive and time-consuming.
My answer is very simple: I want ECPC to offer the best possible service and being the best qualified is an important part of that process.
We were the area’s first BPCA (British Pest Control Association) member and recently became the area’s only CEPA (Central European Pest Association) certified company – one of just 30 in the whole country.
We are also the only company for miles around to have RSPH (Royal Society for Public Health) Level 3 in fumigation and again, are one of just a handful in the UK with this level of accreditation.
We work under CHAS (Contractors Health And Safety scheme) and have ISOS9001, ISOS14001, OHSAS18001 and are Health and Safety qualified.
I’m passionate about my business and want people to know that, though we are a modest-sized company, we are just as qualified and in many cases more qualified, than the bigger players.
For example, to be a BPCA accredited company, 50% of your service staff have to be RSPH accredited. In our case 100% of our service staff are Level 2 qualified and I am one of just a handful in the country to hold Level 3.
Aside from our own professional development and auditing criteria with the BPCA and CEPA we adhere to strict auditing criteria from client bodies too, such as the British Retail Consortium, Red Tractor, Farm Assurance and so on.
It is this level of accreditation, compliance and training that has helped us win work from under the noses of bigger competitors for customers as diverse as hospitals, farms, factories, businesses and homeowners.
In short, we want people to have the peace of mind that they have a team of professional, hugely qualified and accredited pest control staff right here on their doorstep in North Yorkshire.
So, you’ll never hear me say that certificates are just pieces of paper, to me they are the proof that East Coast Pest Control is ahead of the game for the benefit of our growing list of happy customers.
